Canadian Firearms Safety Course
First-time firearms licence applicants must pass the Canadian Firearms Safety Course before applying for a Possession and Acquisition Licence or PAL. After the 8 hours in-class instruction, you will do a written and a practical test. The written test consists of a mix of true and false and multiple choice questions with an 80% passing mark.
Anyone 12 years or older can take the CFSC. To get a Minor's Licence to borrow and use non-restricted firearms, the minor must be between 12 and 17 years old. Before registering for the course we require a consent letter from a minor's guardians or parents.
After successful completion of the course you can follow the link to apply for a firearms license (PAL).
