We have put together a range of outdoor mining courses satisfying even the most stringent tastes. Learn how to prospect for placer and hard rock gold, do field exercises and spend a few days detecting on some of the most prolific regions in BC. We are in the process of securing hundreds of hectares of placer and mineral claims, read more in our Latest News section, now it is up to you to find the gold. You will also learn how to build and maintain a mining camp, safety, making grids and learning a multitude of skills that will help you in your future mining endeavors.

Master Your Metal Detector - Placer Gold

Three days of pure joy!

Learn to prospect for gold from a pro. With over a quarter century of experience swinging his metal detector all over BC and the Yukon, your instructor will teach you how to successfully search the ground for the elusive metal.

This advanced course is designed for professional and recreational prospectors, students, miners and hobbyists alike. Field-related skills for placer gold prospecting with a metal detector will be explained, demonstrated and practiced. This will include ground balancing, control set-up, ground mineralization, coil use, and advanced detecting techniques. Students will complete field exercises, try multiple detecting techniques, and participate in lectures. For class demonstrations we will use a Fisher Gold Bug 2, a White’s TDI Pro and a Nokta Gold Kruzer. Our placer properties are located in the BC Interior. Equipment and transportation is the responsibility of the course participant, see field course notes.
